Meet LaKettra Priestly, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas (License #40548) and the owner of Hope Family Guidance. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Southwest Texas State University and my Master of Social Work from Texas State University, both in San Marcos, Texas.

My professional background includes extensive experience in residential and behavioral health settings serving youth, adults, individuals with disabilities, and people with other special needs. Over the years, I have worked as a therapist, career counselor, and probation officer. I have also held leadership responsibilities involving clinical supervision, staff training, coordination with state agencies and foster care organizations, and oversight of quality and compliance.

These experiences have shaped my appreciation for the many factors that influence emotional well-being, including family relationships, culture, life experiences, and access to support. In therapy, I work collaboratively with individuals, couples, and families to identify goals, build on their strengths, and develop practical strategies for meaningful change.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that growth can include both difficult conversations and moments of laughter. I want therapy to be a space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself. I currently provide services exclusively through secure virtual sessions.

Outside of my work, I am a wife and mother of three adult children. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, traveling, visiting the beach, and attending community events. Supporting people as they discover new possibilities for themselves and their relationships continues to bring me great joy.
